Dear Dr. S:
I had gynecomastia surgery for my man boobs by a plastic surgeon using laser liposuction. Why did things get worse and is there anything you can do about it?
Signed, Dissatisfied
Dear Dissatisfied:
Unfortunately, laser liposuction, which in my opinion does an ok job but not great for fat removal, in fact does a terrible job for breast gland removal. It turns your breast gland into hard, grizzly tissue. The good news is that it can be excised (cut out) but as you found out, laser doesn’t work on true gland tissue in men or women.
