Dr. Schlesinger has been doing ultrasound treatments after liposuction for over 20 years with great results. Ultrasound therapy is not the diagnostic kind where you find the baby in the uterus, but is the therapeutic kind that physical therapists use to get rid of sore muscles. Ultrasound therapy converts sound energy into heat which brings blood supply to areas that have been liposuctioned to help get rid of both swelling and bruising. By using ultrasound after liposuction, one is almost recovered after one month as opposed to a six month recovery time when ultrasound is not used. Ultrasound has a second benefit in that there are some free fat cells that have been knocked off their mooring, and the ultrasound helps sift them as a sifter would do for flour in your kitchen, therefore leveling out the cells and allowing a quicker, smoother result. Ultrasound therapy should be done for a minimum of four sessions and for certain difficult areas like the back and neck, you need eight sessions to get the optimum results.
